Judging Criteria

  • Idea
A project without an idea is just code. While there’s no one way to define a “good” idea, we’ll be on the lookout for creativity and/or the potential to expand further.
  • Adherence to Theme
HOTH X’s theme is “Intersections”. Create something that shows how different aspects of our lives affect one another, based on the prize tracks!
  • Demo
You worked hard on your project, now it’s time to show it to the judges and convince them that it’s the best! We’re looking for concise demos that give us a clear understanding of the project and its journey during HOTH.
  • Technical Complexity
Although your project was completed within a short span of 12 hours, we hope you were able to progress your coding abilities and try something new. You never know what you might achieve with a different approach and/or different tools!
  • Functionality
Considering HOTH X is only 12 hours, perfection is unrealistic. However, try your best to get your project to a state where it has 50% or more of its intended functionality and is ready to show off to others!
